South Lake Tourist Area, a comprehensive historical and cultural scenic spot integrating tourism, recreation and red education, is a national AAAAA level scenic spot. The scenic area covers an area of about 5.86 square kilometers, including South Lake Scenic Spot, South Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall, and Moon River Historic District.

South Lake is one of the three famous lakes in Zhejiang Province, known for its charming scenery of “light smoke and breeze”, and also known as “beautiful water and blessed land”. South Lake Scenic Area has a scenic garden, the lake island, smoke and rain building, small Yingzhou, trench stock tower, South Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall and other attractions, very south of the garden features and historical and cultural value. 1921, the Communist Party of China's first national congress on the South Lake of a painting boat to complete the final agenda, solemnly declared the founding of the Communist Party of China, from then on, the South Lake has become the people of the country aspire to the holy land of the revolution. Based on the red tourism resources and its advantages, the South Lake Tourism Zone is actively playing the role of red propaganda of “learning from the past and educating people through history”, and has become an important position for patriotism education and revolutionary tradition education of the Party members, cadres, people and young people.
